FLYINGGROUP and Lelystad Airport sign letter of intent
On the 25th of May 2016 at EBACE in Geneva, FLYINGGROUP and Lelystad Airport sign a letter of intent to develop business aviation at Lelystad Airport.
This agreement entitles FLYINGGROUP to extend its business to the Netherlands, by building initially a 3000 square meter hangar with office and an option for a second hangar of 4000 square meter within the following 5 years. In conjunction FLYINGGROUP will offer FBO services at the airport and rent sufficient room in the existing GA terminal.
In 2015 FLYINGGROUP incorporated Jet Management Europe BV into the group as a first step in strengthening its presence in the Netherlands. "In 2017 FLYINGGROUP is determined to take the next step in extending its presence in the Netherlands" says Bernard Van Milders, President and founder of FLYINGGROUP.
In 2018 Lelystad Airport is to become a ‘preferred leisure airport’ for scheduled flights to leisure destinations in Europe. In addition Lelystad Airport focusses on expanding their business aviation and MRO-activities. Erik Lagerweij, director of Lelystad Airport, welcomes FLYINGGROUP at Lelystad Airport. “FLYINGGROUP is a solid partner that will enable us to develop the Business Aviation”.
In the coming year plans will be further evaluated and developed. FLYINGGROUP's aim is to realise the hangar to be ready and offer FBO services in 2018.
